JoomlaDagen 2023 - what you need to know about this event

JoomlaDagen 2023 - what you should know about this event

I don't think I wrong saying that the all Joomla Community was waiting for this major event with a great impatience (so do I). Thanks to the the legendary Dutch efficientness, the team made this event, a complete success.

Since the pandemic, the Joomla Community was impatient to meet again. The online events are great and probably a solution to boost the JUGS activities but nothing can replace a real meeting.

If for some reasons you wasn't in Tilburg in The Netherland last week, here is a summary of what the participants had the pleasure of experiencing and sharing.

What have you missed if you weren't at JoomlaDagen 2023?

An amazing organization

Organizing perfectly such even is only possible with a competent, reliable and motivated team. Rick Spaan is the kind of leader able to federate such talented and enthousiastics colleagues around him. And this 2023 edition was a fantastic event.

As an attendee, everything went smooth: the programm, the rooms, the timing, the atmosphere, the goodies (yeah I love Joomla goodies^^), etc.
On a personal level, I would like also to hightlight the incredible aviability of the team. I had few questions before coming and Nico replied me immedialty by email with efficient and pertinent answers. That's help a lot.

My review wont be complete without mentioning the permanent smiles offered by the all team all along the event, especially bt Edith and Rachel.

The Team in charge of the JoomlaDagen 2023: Rick, Hans, Martijn, Nico, Edith, Jeroen, Etienne, Fred, Hans and Rachel. Kudos, you rock guys!!

The JoomlaDagen 2023 Team

An amazing venue (and weather)

Tilburg is a lovely, quiet, and green Dutch city, in the heart of the Benelux. So, it's very easy to get there if you are from England, Germany, Belgium, France (less than 4 hours, a bit more if you live in Bretagne or Bordeaux).

Idealy located down town, the venue was the ROC Tilburg. And the Dutch Team had the brilliant idea to involve the students of this school to the JoomlaDay. The first day was included in the semester of the students and was acounted as a mark. So, there were more than 25 students for the PBF, which is simply amazing!

And as often in spring in The Netherland, the weather was absolutly delicious.

Many amazing presentations

The topics covered during the JoomlaDagen 2023 were more than various than you could expected: Joomla code, extensions demo, AI, child templates, overrides, redesign of Joomla official wbesites, tips and tricks about Joomla, etc.

If most of the sessions were in Dutch, there were also some in English because Joomla is borderless. Let's highlight these Joomlers from Germany (Elisa), Greece (Sakis), France (Yannick and Daniel), Belgium (Marc), England (Philip) and even Canada (Tim). This demonstrate how this JoomlaDagen 2023 was "the place to be".

As usual and even if you are a Joomler since years (or more), you always come back home from a JoomlDay with inspiration, new ideas, new projects, new contacts, new friends, more knowledges. And this is priceless!

Many amazing people

The Joomla Community is like a true family. You'll always find some fellows willing to help you, to answers your questions, to give you advices or even to pay your bills in case you have memory issues (thank you so much again, Edith).

About the templatejoomla project, I received A LOT of very positive reviews from many Joomlers during the JoomlaDagen 2023. So many positive vibes, that's really amazing and very motivating.
Erick came to me after my presentation and offered me to share his thoughts about this project. We should be in touch very soon and I can't wait to chat with him.
Rick also suggested an amazing idea and we'll work on it in the next coming days.

So next year and if you are serious about Joomla, don't miss the next edition of the JoomlaDagen. Without any doubt, I'll be there and I can't wait to see and meet you in The Netherland in 2024!
