Yes, Joomla ecosystem is alive and as an evidence, I'm proud and happy to present you Callback, my new module forked and developped for Joomla 4.
In this article, I'll explain you why and how I've created this module. And maybe it will gives few ideas to some of you... ;)
Callback - Free module for Joomla 4
Why I've imagined Callback?
As usual, all starts from a specific need.
For building this website with Joomla 4, I wanted to use the same module as I had in the previous version of my website: Call Me Back developed by itfirmaet.dk.
The module displays a basic form where the user fills his name and his phone number. Once he clicks on the send button, an email is sent to the address added in the module parameters with the contact details. Yes, it's very basic but very useful for visitors.
How I've created this new extension for Joomla?
I've contacted the danish developer of this free module to ask him if he planned to upgrade his module to J4. Few days later, he replied me negatively but he gave me his permission to fork his module.
Sometimes, you're lucky and you don't have to spend hours on a project because the job have been done earlier by someone else. Here, I want to credit Esben from itfirmaet.dk, the previous developer, who did most of the job.
So, it was much simple and faster than I've imagined at the beginning and few days later, my callback module was 100% functional on J4.
Because the features of this extension are useful to me, I've decided to release and share it with the Joomla Community who might also need it too.
Because I want to spread the Joomla love, Callback - like all my Joomla extensions - is free of charge. For you, for all and for ever.
How Callback works?
Very basically, the module aims to display a form where the user can indicate his name and his phone number. Then, the plugin sends these details to the email address indicate in the module parameters.
Of course, there are some interesting options like:
- Intro text: you can display a specific text just before the form
- Confirmation text: you can add a confirmation text which be display after the user click the send button
- Phone number control: you can select the minimum of characters the phone numbers must have.

As you can see, Callback is really simple but enough powerful to make you smile everyday.

Conclusion
